Legal Assistant

Dedication, loyalty and efficiency are a few factors that you must have in this profession.

I was just out of college when I started with the predecessor, Xerri Rubinstein & Co. I had no experience in law but very quicklyadapted. I had amazing mentors who taught me all areas of law (including Maltese Law) and also taught me bookkeeping to manage the Trust and Office accounts. I was employed by the Principal of the firm, Mr Mario Xerri, for 31 years before it was taken over by Ascot Solicitors.

Now in my new role at this growing firm, I’m employed as a Legal Secretary/Assistant and have also been appointed to do debt recovery. At times I’m required to interpret in the Maltese language which I am fluent and familiar with. Understandably, it can be overwhelming when having difficulties speaking the English language. My skill in being able to interpret in the Maltese language helps clients feel at ease and more importantly they are able to understand what they are actually executing. I’m the first point of contact when you enter our Sunshine office and can guarantee that you will always be greeted with a smiley face and a positive attitude. I enjoy my job and I am always willing to go above and beyondto help others and assist anyone that walks in.

Outside work I am blessed with a wonderful family. I have been married to my High School sweetheart for 29 years and we have two beautiful adult children, a daughter who is an Accountant and a son who is in his first year at Uni. My husband and I have more free time now that our children are older. We enjoy wining and dining and going on holidays.
